Burrowbox Docs

Quickstart

#1. Get an API key

Create an account at burrowbox.dev, then open Account → API keys and create a key. It starts with tmk_ and is shown once.

export BURROWBOX_KEY=tmk_...

#2. Create a machine

curl -X POST https://burrowbox.dev/api/machines \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $BURROWBOX_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"name": "research-bot", "size": "tiny", "ttlMinutes": 60}'

The response includes the machine's id, its mcpUrl and an mcpToken scoped to that machine:

{
  "id": "2f6aeedcd3",
  "name": "research-bot",
  "status": "running",
  "size": "tiny",
  "mcpUrl": "https://burrowbox.dev/api/machines/2f6aeedcd3/mcp",
  "mcpToken": "tmm_…",
  "expiresInSeconds": 3600
}

#3. Connect your agent

With Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http research-bot \
  https://burrowbox.dev/api/machines/2f6aeedcd3/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer tmm_…"

Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP works the same way. Your agent now has 40+ tools: browser_navigate, browser_login, apps_install, screenshot, click, type_text and more. See MCP.

#4. Watch it work

Open the machine in the dashboard to stream the desktop, a single app window or the browser in real time. You can take over with your own mouse and keyboard at any point.

#5. Turn it off

curl -X POST https://burrowbox.dev/api/machines/2f6aeedcd3/stop \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $BURROWBOX_KEY"

Files, installed apps, browser cookies and open windows are kept. The next start resumes where it left off.
